Feature-Rich Salon Software With Useful Scheduling but Notable Limitations
STX offers some genuinely valuable capabilities, especially for salon scheduling and payroll management. A standout feature is the ability to fill open time gaps during color processing, which is essential for maximizing appointment efficiency. The payroll system was a major reason for switching platforms, as it supports a wide range of pay structures, including tiered commissions, standard commissions, and combinations of hourly wages with commission. However, the software can feel unstable at times, with recurring glitches that affect usability. Important features such as notifications for rescheduled appointments and reminders for classes are missing. The online booking system feels outdated and can be confusing for clients, and embedding it via iframe may negatively impact website performance. Inventory management is cumbersome, with limited options for importing, exporting, or duplicating products. Additionally, the lack of CSV export functionality for business data makes reporting and data management more difficult than it should be.
