How SoftwareWorld Works
Quick answers about the platform, research, reviews, evaluation, and support.
What is SoftwareWorld?
Founded in 2018, SoftwareWorld is a B2B software and service research platform. Buyers can discover categories, explore public profiles, read approved user reviews, compare options, and use buyer-focused research before creating a shortlist.
SoftwareWorld covers both business software products and professional service providers, giving buyers more than one research path when evaluating a decision.
How does SoftwareWorld help buyers research software and service providers?
SoftwareWorld connects category discovery, public profiles, user reviews, comparisons, alternatives, and buyer research. Buyers can start with a broad market, narrow the options that fit their needs, and then review more detailed information before deciding which products or providers deserve a closer look.
How does SoftwareWorld evaluate software and service providers?
SoftwareWorld combines research-team review with algorithmic evaluation. Organic category position can consider market presence and credibility, approved review signals, category relevance, public information, and SoftwareWorld internal analysis.
Because category relevance matters, the same listing can appear differently across categories. Organic positions are recalculated daily as relevant inputs change.
How does SoftwareWorld verify reviews?
Reviewer identity and professional information are checked before approved feedback is published. LinkedIn provides a direct professional identity signal. For Google-sign-in reviews, SoftwareWorld may cross-check the reviewer’s company and position against LinkedIn or other professional information.
If information is unclear, the review team may contact the reviewer before publication. Reviews that do not meet SoftwareWorld review guidelines can be rejected.
What is the difference between a user rating and an organic category position?
A user star rating reflects approved reviewer feedback. An organic category position uses a broader category-specific evaluation that can also consider market presence and credibility, review volume and recency, positive and negative feedback, category relevance, public information, and SoftwareWorld internal analysis.
Does Sponsored Placement improve an organic ranking or change reviews?
No. Sponsored Placement changes paid visibility only. It does not change approved user reviews, editorial assessment, or the underlying organic evaluation. Vendor payment does not improve an organic SoftwareWorld ranking.
How often are SoftwareWorld organic positions recalculated?
Organic category positions are recalculated daily. Positions can change as approved review signals, public information, category relevance, or other evaluation inputs change.
How can I contact SoftwareWorld for support?
For questions not covered in the Help Center, use the Contact Us page or email [email protected]. When contacting support about an account, listing, claim, or review, include the relevant email address and SoftwareWorld profile or page URL when available.

Is it free to get listed on SoftwareWorld?
A completely new vendor-submitted software or service listing has a one-time $99 approval fee. If SoftwareWorld already has the correct product or company profile, an authorized vendor can use the free claim process instead.
How can I list a new software product or service company?
- Open Get Listed and create a vendor account using a valid business email.
- Activate the account through the email sent by SoftwareWorld.
- Complete your Vendor Profile.
- Open Listings and choose to add a new Software Product or Service Company.
- Complete the required listing information and submit it.
- Complete the one-time $99 listing approval fee.
- SoftwareWorld reviews the submission before publication.
Use a new listing only when the profile does not already exist on SoftwareWorld.
What information should I prepare for a new software listing?
Prepare accurate product information from your official sources. Typical information includes the software logo, product name, tagline, official website, relevant categories, product description, features, pricing or packages when available, supported languages, deployment or licensing details, supported devices, and social links.
What information should I prepare for a new service company listing?
Prepare accurate company information such as the company logo, business name, tagline, official business website and contact information, founding year, team size, locations, service focus, client focus, industry focus, pricing information where applicable, certifications, social profiles, company description, and portfolio or client information when available.
What if I cannot find a suitable software category, service category, or industry?
Do not select an unrelated category only to complete the form. Choose the closest accurate option when appropriate, or contact SoftwareWorld support when your offering does not fit the available choices.
How long does a new listing take to publish?
Every new listing goes through SoftwareWorld review before publication. Timing can vary when additional verification or corrections are required. Check the registered business email and your vendor account for any action needed during review.
What are the basic eligibility requirements for a new software or service listing?
The product or service company should have an official business website and enough public or vendor-provided information for SoftwareWorld to validate the submission. Listing details should accurately match the official website and other reliable business sources. Submissions with incomplete, inconsistent, or unverifiable information may require correction before approval.
Why is my software product or service company already on SoftwareWorld if I did not submit it?
SoftwareWorld may create public profiles as part of its software and service research. If the correct profile already exists, an authorized representative does not need to create another listing. Use the free claim process to request management access to the existing profile.
Software or Service ProfileClaiming, profile access, approved information, and account changes.
How can I claim an existing SoftwareWorld profile?
Create or sign in to your vendor account, activate the business email, complete your Vendor Profile, choose the existing-profile claim route, search for the exact software or service profile, and select Claim Profile.
Before submission, SoftwareWorld shows a confirmation step identifying the selected profile and asking you to confirm that you are authorized to manage it. Choose Submit Claim Request only after confirming the correct profile.
Existing-profile claims are free. Eligible requests are generally reviewed within 24–48 hours before management access is granted.
What happens after my claim request is approved?
The approved profile becomes available in Listings for ongoing management. Depending on the profile and eligibility, vendors can maintain supported information, work with customer reviews, submit an Executive Interview, use available badges, and review visibility opportunities.
Can I edit or update an approved profile?
Yes. Vendors can maintain supported information available in the approved-profile editor. Some identity or category information requires SoftwareWorld review rather than direct editing.
For approved software profiles, Software Name, Software Website, and Software Categories are protected fields. Contact SoftwareWorld support when one of these needs to change. A software-name change is appropriate when the product has genuinely been renamed or rebranded.
Can I manage more than one software product or service company?
Yes. One vendor account can support multiple software and service activities when the vendor is authorized to manage those profiles. Use the existing account rather than creating a new account for every listing or claim.
How do I change my vendor login email or transfer profile access?
For security, some access changes require SoftwareWorld verification rather than a simple self-service edit. Contact support using the current registered business email when possible and include the relevant profile URL and the requested access change.
How do I reset my vendor account password?
Open the Vendor Sign In page, choose Forgot Password, enter the registered business email, and use the reset link sent to that address. Contact support if you no longer have access to the registered email.
What are service focus, client focus, and industry focus areas?
These fields help buyers understand what a service company does, the types of clients it commonly serves, and the industries where it has relevant experience. They also help SoftwareWorld place a service company in the most relevant research context. Choose only focus areas that accurately represent the company.
Can I delete my SoftwareWorld profile?
Vendor accounts do not provide a self-service option to remove a public SoftwareWorld profile. If you have a profile-related concern or believe a profile requires review, contact SoftwareWorld support and include the profile URL and the reason for the request.
Software or Service RankingOrganic category position, review signals, category relevance, and paid visibility.
How is my software or service company positioned on category pages?
Organic category position is broader than a star rating. SoftwareWorld can consider market presence and credibility, approved review signals, category relevance, public information, and internal analysis through its research process and proprietary algorithm.
For the complete explanation, see SoftwareWorld Methodology.
Do reviews and ratings influence organic category position?
Yes, review signals can contribute to organic evaluation. Review volume, recency, positive and negative feedback, ratings, and category-specific feedback can all provide context, but reviews are not the only factor used.
Can the same listing have a different position in different categories?
Yes. Category relevance matters, so a software product or service company can have different organic positions across approved categories depending on how closely it fits each category.
Does geographic presence matter for service companies?
Geographic presence is one of the factors SoftwareWorld can consider when evaluating service providers. Service focus, review signals, recognition, social presence, work experience, and other relevant public information can also contribute to service evaluation.
Can Sponsored Placement or other paid visibility improve my organic ranking?
No. Vendor payment never improves an organic SoftwareWorld ranking. Sponsored Placement changes paid visibility only and does not change user reviews, editorial assessment, or the underlying organic evaluation.
How is the user rating on my SoftwareWorld profile different from its category position?
The user star rating reflects approved reviewer feedback. Organic category position uses a broader, category-specific evaluation and can also consider review volume and recency, market presence and credibility, category relevance, public information, and SoftwareWorld internal analysis. A star rating and an organic category position should not be treated as the same signal.
Software or Service ReviewsCustomer review publication, responses, moderation, and reporting concerns.
Why is a customer review not showing on my profile?
Submitted reviews enter SoftwareWorld moderation before publication. Reviewer identity and professional information are checked, and submissions that do not meet review guidelines can be rejected. The reviewer can use Review Activity to track whether a review is Submitted, Published, or Rejected.
Can I invite customers to review my software or service company?
Yes. You can share the public SoftwareWorld profile or Write a Review journey with genuine customers or clients who have first-hand experience. Reviewers should submit their own independent feedback through SoftwareWorld's normal verification process.
Can I respond to reviews on my SoftwareWorld profile?
Yes. Vendors can respond to approved published reviews from the available customer-review tools. Responses should remain professional and relevant to the reviewer feedback.
What should I do if I believe a review is false, irrelevant, or inappropriate?
Contact SoftwareWorld support and include the profile URL, the review involved, and a clear explanation of the concern. SoftwareWorld will review the report under its moderation process.

What information can I find on a service company profile?

No. SoftwareWorld provides research signals and context, but buyers should consider their own requirements, budget, implementation needs, current product or service information, and other relevant sources before making a final decision.
What does a Sponsored listing mean?
A Sponsored listing is paid visibility and is identified separately from organic evaluation. Sponsorship does not improve an organic SoftwareWorld ranking and does not change user reviews or editorial assessment.
