CentOS is built on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, making it secure and reliable, and it’s free, which is great for beginners learning Linux. It runs faster than many other operating systems, and if you’re already familiar with Linux, switching to CentOS is very easy. Its strong security features and popularity for server hosting make it a great choice to learn an OS. The only downsides are the smaller community support, longer release cycles compared to Fedora or Ubuntu, and that most tasks need to be done via the terminal rather than a graphical interface.
