I’ve been using AutoCAD LT for the past year to handle 2D drafting and technical drawings, and it has been a reliable tool for my daily workflow. The software offers all the essential drafting tools that professionals expect from AutoCAD but in a more lightweight and affordable package. The interface is clean and organized, making it easier to navigate compared to the full AutoCAD version, which can feel overwhelming at times. One of the biggest advantages of AutoCAD LT is its precision and accuracy. It allows me to create detailed technical drawings with exact measurements, and the layer management system helps organize complex projects efficiently. The software runs smoothly on mid-range computers, which is a huge plus for small studios or freelancers who don’t have high-end workstations. Another thing I appreciate is the DWG compatibility — it ensures seamless collaboration with colleagues who use full AutoCAD or other CAD tools. However, AutoCAD LT has some limitations. It is strictly 2D-focused, so there is no 3D modeling or advanced rendering, which means for more complex design projects, I need to rely on the full AutoCAD or other 3D CAD software. The lack of certain automation features also means repetitive tasks sometimes take longer than I would like. Despite these drawbacks, it’s perfect for users who only need robust 2D drafting capabilities without the cost and complexity of the full AutoCAD suite.

Reliable Drafting Software with Some Limitations
Overall, my experience with this software has been very positive. It is user-friendly once you get some hands-on practice and works well for product development, drafting, and designing. Features like layer management, property manager, and file recovery are especially useful, making it a good choice for engineering companies and offering strong value for money. However, it is not ideal for all types of 3D modeling and does not support analysis or simulation. You also need to remember many commands for efficient use, and the software can occasionally crash, which can be frustrating.
