About TagWizard

Tag Wizard | You take the picture. Tag Wizard does the rest.

Tag Wizard is a facility asset management identification and labeling system built to fix a problem that undermines every maintenance and compliance program: unreliable data captured at the source. Most tools need a barcode or a readable nameplate. Tag Wizard doesn't.

Point a phone camera at a piece of equipment — missing tag, corroded nameplate, or none at all — and Tag Wizard identifies it using a large proprietary asset library and a standardized taxonomy built on conventions like NIST, Nestor, and ASTM. Capture works across NFC, RFID, QR, and barcodes, plus AI-driven identification when there's nothing to scan. Asset hierarchy is captured live, condition ratings and related-asset connections are built in, and AI can pull equipment manuals straight into notes for future parts and service reference. One photo, not a form — and the standardized data flows straight into whatever CMMS a team already runs.

Tag Wizard was built from 35 years in asset management, field data collection, and regulatory compliance, including founding a rules-engine-driven refrigerant compliance platform later acquired by a major CMMS provider — and from real, hands-on HVAC field experience. It shows: teams using Tag Wizard have gone from tagging roughly 33 assets a day to over 350 a day, under real field conditions.

Built for facility teams managing multi-site portfolios, technicians taking over unfamiliar accounts, and software partners who need clean asset data — especially in grocery, data centers, commercial real estate, and HVAC/mechanical contracting.

TagWizard Features

Each category combines the selected software category, its category-specific description, and the features assigned to that category.

TagWizard brings accuracy to fixed asset management where most systems break down: initial capture. Traditional fixed asset registers rely on manual entry or barcode scanning—both of which fail the moment a nameplate is missing, worn, or never applied. TagWizard identifies equipment using AI and a standardized classification system, even without a readable tag, so the fixed asset register starts accurate instead of being corrected later. Once identified, each asset is tracked with condition ratings, live equipment relationships, and data that flows directly into whatever CMMS or fixed-asset system a company already runs — no rip-and-replace required.

TagWizard tracks physical equipment across sites without depending on a single point of failure. Most asset tracking tools require a scannable barcode, QR code, or proprietary tag to work—leaving any asset with a damaged or missing label essentially invisible. TagWizard reads RFID, NFC, QR, and barcodes, and when none are available, it identifies equipment directly using AI and a large equipment classification library. That means asset tracking data stays complete across the entire portfolio, not just the newer or better-labeled half — with real-time location and condition tracking as equipment moves or ages.

TagWizard changes how a new HVAC or refrigeration account gets started. The typical process when a contractor wins a new account is a technician site survey — walking the property, cataloging equipment by hand, and building a baseline before real service work can begin. That takes time, and it means pulling a technician off billable work just to document what's already there. With TagWizard, that survey doesn't have to wait for a technician. A salesperson can walk the site during or right after closing the deal, tag every rooftop unit, compressor, air handler, and refrigeration system with a phone camera, and hand off a complete, accurate equipment baseline before the first service call. No lost momentum between winning the account and starting the work — and no dependence on a nameplate being readable, since TagWizard identifies equipment even when the tag is missing or corroded.
