"Churches and worship communities often turn to OpenLP for managing presentation and media during live services. It handles song lyrics, Bible verses, and other on-screen content in a way that volunteers and non-technical users can pick up quickly. The free and open-source nature also makes it appealing for organizations with limited budgets. That said, groups looking for more advanced media production tools or polished visual design features may find it somewhat limited over time."

I’m very satisfied with this program and have even recommended it to others and trained several people to use it. Setting up a service with images and praises is simple, and the interface is intuitive, making it easy to add new praises as needed. The only drawbacks I’ve noticed are that using videos as motion backgrounds isn’t very smooth, and the Mac OS version isn’t as well optimized as the Windows version. Overall, it’s a versatile and user-friendly tool.
OpenLP is a fantastic example of what open-source software can offer. It’s well-developed, backed by a supportive community, and has been essential for our church. The ability to dynamically edit setlists on stage—adding, removing, or skipping items completely wirelessly—has truly been a game-changer. I also love that it’s cross-platform, running on Windows, iOS, or Linux, and doesn’t require a full-sized computer, which makes it reliable and versatile. The only thing that could improve is multi-language support—being able to display two languages at once would take this software to the next level. Overall, it’s the best software we’ve used for worship services.
