Good But Confusing

My overall experience with GIMP has been excellent. I have been using it since my teenage years and it has never let me down. What I appreciate most is that it is completely free while offering a wide range of effects, tools, and settings that truly enhance images. What I like least is the confusing interface and navigation. I really wish they would refresh the interface to make it more visually appealing and easier to access.

useful image editing software that has a ton of features

I use GIMP to touch up low-quality images we get from clients by fixing blemishes, smoothing rough lines, and adjusting colours so everything blends more naturally. One of my favourite features is how easily you can swap one colour for another without affecting the rest of the image, which is perfect for quick corrections. It’s fast to launch, gives me exactly what I need right away, and it’s completely free with regular updates. GIMP offers a huge number of features, though some are buried deep in the menus but thankfully there are plenty of online guides to help. I do wish it had a few simpler photo-editing controls, like an easy exposure slider or a basic photo mode.

“I was genuinely impressed with GIMP. It is a powerful application packed with advanced features and the fact that it is free is a huge plus. I really enjoy the wide range of tools it offers including layer masks and bezier curves which allow me to produce professional-quality designs. The customizable interface is also a great bonus and makes the workflow even more comfortable.

Dependable Tool but Tough Learning Curve

GIMP perfectly satisfies my needs!

I never really searched for other options because, while it may not be the top choice for professional designers, it perfectly fits my needs as a writer and creative. I’ve designed my own book covers, made banners and ads for social media, and even illustrated a children’s book that later became an ebook and audiobook.
