Please tell us about yourself in the context of your company and give a brief intro to the organization.
dev.family is a boutique outsourcing development studio that specializes in food tech, e-commerce, and automation solutions. We provide a cross-platform approach and support startups and enterprises as technology partners, helping them grow and scale. We also contribute to open-source culture by sharing our libraries and products with the development community.
What was the core reason behind founding this company?
At first, I worked alone. Over time, I found larger clients and realized that I needed not just a team, but also professionals who are all experts in their field. I also believe in hiring someone who will do a better job than I can.. Now, I consider us a community of tech enthusiasts passionate about cutting-edge technologies and solutions. We dream of creating value for businesses, the environment, and the future.
How is your company different from the competitors in the market?
We combine strong software architecture with a business-first mindset. Our clients value our proactive approach and our deep integration with their product teams – we're more than just vendors. The extensive knowledge of the food tech domain allows us to serve as more than just a development partner; we also consult startups and new businesses on implementing emerging solutions.
Does your company have an in-house team to work on projects, or do you outsource employees as required? If anything else, please share.
We have a fully in-house, cross-functional team of engineers, designers, and product managers. There is no outsourcing. This is how we ensure quality, speed, and alignment. Sometimes, we collaborate with partners who have the technology we lack in-house. However, we still manage the project.
Which industries do you cover in general? Do you have repetitive clients? If yes, please describe their ratio.
We work with clients in the food tech, e-commerce, retail, automation, travel, and many other industries. Over 80% of our clients stay with us long term — some for over five years. We grow together.
Does your company use AI technologies in service offerings? If yes, could you describe how AI is used in your services?
Yes, we integrate AI where it adds real value, from recommendation systems and fraud detection to GenAI integrations in internal tools and customer-facing platforms. We recently wrote .cursore.rules for use in our open-source product, Admiral, which provides tools for quickly developing improved admin panels.
What kind of support services do you offer to your clients?
We provide end-to-end support: from product discovery and architecture to scaling, DevOps, analytics, and iterative product improvement post-launch.
Are your pricing rates competitive? How do you justify your business pricing model compared to your competitors?
Our pricing is based on impact we bring to the projects. It reflects the quality, speed, and dedication of a senior team that ships real results.
Where will you see your company in the next 10 years, and what are your future plans for that?
In 10 years, dev.family will be a go-to product partner on US and EU markets helping scale businesses through smart digital solutions.
What steps are you taking to adapt your services for a mobile-driven world?
Prioritize PWA, cross-platform tech, and native performance optimization. Mobile is commonly default in most product we ship.
Could you explain how you create and sustain healthy relationships with your clients?
Transparency, speed, and ownership. We embed into client teams, communicate daily, and act like co-founders – not contractors.
What steps are involved in your plan to handle and beat the competition in the market?
By staying lean, hiring only top talent, and continuing to ship high-quality products fast. Our edge is not only marketing – it's reputation and referrals.
What is the biggest challenge that you have faced, and how did you overcome it to make your company successful?
We turned every challenge in our practice into insights and experience. So, I hope our biggest win is still ahead of us.
